HISTORY
STEP ONTO A BEAUTIFUL SALOONBOAT STEEPED IN MORE THAN 80 YEARS OF HISTORY.
Saloonboat Lieve was built in 1935 at one of the most famous yards in Holland, right next to the factory called “Het Fort” owned by G.de Vries Lentsch based in Nieuwendam. She was named Henriëtte, after the daughter of Royal Ketjen’s CEO.
Henriette is for many years a board boat for the CEO’s at Ketjen and since then cruising over the waters of Amsterdam. When Ketjen merges into Akzo Nobel she was made redundant.
Skipper Mr Heijsman has been Henriëtte caretaker for over 15 years. This makes him the designated heir to this stunning vessel. The boat becomes privately owned and is making lots of extensive trips all over Europe, even up to the Mediterannean sea. At one point Mr Heijsman has to part with Henriëtte and she was sold to a 3rd party.
SALOONBOAT
In 2006 she was then bought by Mr B. Hamberg who has put 4 years of hard labour, dedication and passion to make Lieve into the beautiful saloonboat she is today.
Now Lieve is owned by Mr Bos and Mr van der Hoeve, who both have a passion for boats and love Amsterdam. They intent to maintain Lieve her good looks, nurture her, give her the attention she needs and deserves, so she will be able to flaunt for many years to come on the waters of Amsterdam.
Henriëtte,
now Lieve in her full glory.
